Early …c5 and the …Qb6 attack
Black hits d4 early with …c5 and often adds …Qb6, attacking b2 — the pawn your f4 bishop left behind. Your rule: answer …Qb6 with Qb3. If Black trades, axb3 opens the a-file for your rook. If Black closes the centre with …c4, trade on b6 yourself: after Qxb6 axb6 Black is left with doubled b-pawns.
