Traps and tricks
Short lines where Black goes wrong and you win material — plus traps you must not fall into yourself. The patterns to remember: the pawn fork on e5, the undefended bishop on d6, Qb3 against b7 when Black's bishop has left c8, the pin with Bb5, the queen hunt with Rb1 and Nb5, the knight sacrifice on g5, the weak c2 square, the early …Bg4 that hangs to Qxg4, and the d5 pawn left hanging after …Qxb2.
